In the Field

Frozen in Time - For A While. Weaselhead Natural Area, Calgary, AB, Canada. April 14, 1993.

I ran across this Canada Goose track early one frosty spring morning over a decade ago. The track had to be made the previous evening before the temperature fell below freezing. And, it was destined to last only an hour or two more - just until the temperature rose and the frozen mud started to flow. The ephmerality of the sign of goose's presence, and the contrast of the track against the soil, impacted on me.
