Natural Art: The Photography of Brad Hill

Natural Art Images: Digital Photography Instruction

I offer seminars, photo tours, workshops and private/semi-private tutoring on a variety of topics related to modern digital photography, with special emphasis on digital nature and wildlife photography. Seminars and tutoring sessions are most commonly scheduled in late autumn to very early spring (November to mid-April), with photo tours and workshops scheduled in spring through to early autumn (normally May through September). Here's a little more information on these educational events:

1. Seminars: My seminars are offered most commonly in the Columbia Valley of southeastern British Columbia in the towns of Golden in the north through to Cranbrook/Fernie in the south. I also offer seminars in Calgary, Alberta. You will find all details of upcoming seminars right here (once seminars are formally scheduled).

Past seminar topics have included:

• Introductory Digital Nature Photography
• Introductory Digital Wildlife Photography
• Introductory Digital Bird Photography
• Digital Workflow - Soup to Beans
• Introductory Digital Image Editing
• Digital Image Editing for Nature Photographers

2. Photo Tours: I offer both full "Instructional" Photo Tours and "Photo Op" style photo tours. These two types of photo tours differ primarily in the amount of instructional material offered to the participants and may also differ slightly in duration. All my photo tours offer unsurpassed photographic opportunities! At present I offer photo tours in the late spring through to early autumn following this general schedule:

• Spring: Grizzlies of the Khutzeymateen - both instructional and photo op tours are offered.
• Summer: Instructional photo tours to either Gwaii Haanas National Park (Queen Charlotte Islands) or northern Vancouver Island (for aquatic mammals).
• Autumn: Spirit Bears and the Great Bear Rainforest - both instructional and photo op tours are offered.

All details regarding my photo tours - including trip dates and specifics, downloadable brochures, prices, and current schedule can be found on my Photo Tours page of this website.

3. Workshops: My workshops are most commonly presented in conjunction with outdoor events/festivals such as the annual "Wings Over the Rockies" Bird Festival (in the Columbia Valley). Traditionally my workshops focus primarily on image capture and field craft and field techniques. You will find all details of upcoming workshops right here (once seminars are formally scheduled).

4. Private and Semi-private Tutoring: New for 2011 (and by public demand!) - I'm now offering both private and semi-private tutoring (for groups up to 4) in a number of aspects of digital nature photography. The specific topics offered are diverse (covering virtually any aspect of nature photography, including image capture and image processing/digital workflow topics) and customizable. Tutoring takes place in my spacious, rural (in the woods!) home in the SE Kootenays of beautiful British Columbia, Canada. This mountainous region offers diverse subject matter for the nature photographer - from wildflowers to wolves, waterfowl, landscapes, and more! Timing, duration, and specific topics can be designed to meet your individual needs. Prices determined on a case-by-case basis.
