In the Field

Thirsty Chipper. Findlay Creek, BC, Canada. July 31, 2004.

If you live in or visit an arid area and like to photograph wildlife, just go to the nearest watering hole and wait! I caught this Yellow Pine Chipmunk quenching its thirst in a pond conveniently located just outside my house. The take home lesson: providing a source of water can help attract both birds and small mammals to places where they can be easily and conveniently photographed!
